Playing your
first game of Redline Racer could not be easier. If
you're having problems just follow this step-by-step
guide to get racing.
Run the game.
Click 'OK' to leave the start
screen.
First, you'll need to enter your
name. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the
letters until you get to the required letter and
then click 'Select'. Continue this process until
your name is complete. Alternatively, click on
the name box and you can type it in. When you're
finished, click 'OK'.
Next you'll need to chose your
team. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the
available options and click on 'Male' or 'Female'
as appropriate. Teams are represented by 3D
rider, this is you. Once you've found the team
you want click 'OK' to move on.
Now you are presented with the
game's Main Menu.
From this menu you can access all
the functions of the game. If you ever need help,
press F1 and you will be presented with this very
help system!!
For now we'll play a straight
forward Arcade game. So click on the 'Arcade'
button.
Now we're getting somewhere. It's
time to choose the track you going to race on.
You can browse through all the available tracks
using the arrow keys and more tracks will become
available the better you get. For now we'll
choose 'Sierra Dorado', a track set in the
scorching desert sun. Once you've found it, click
'OK'.
Next, you get to choose your
bike. All the bikes handle differently and some
are better suited to certain types of track.
'Sierra Dorado' is a dry desolate place and solid
tarmac roads mean fast racing. So, you'll want to
choose a bike with a high top speed. The
characteristics of the bikes are displayed in a
graph below each one. Use these graphs to judge
their respective performance. Let's try
'Nightstorm K10' (that's the red one). Click 'OK'
when you're ready.
Finally, you'll need to choose
the bikes transmission. As we're only starting
out let's choose 'Automatic' transmission. This
will let the computer change the bikes gears for
us so we only need to worry about racing around a
canyon at 200mph dodging walls and other bikes!!
After some practice it's worth trying out the
'Manual' gear box as with a bit of skill you can
squeeze that extra bit of power from the bike.
Click 'OK' and you're in the
race!!!
Check out the controls area for
the default controls. Redline Racer can also be
played using a joystick and the mouse.
Enjoy the Ride.
